RULES OF WHIRLYBALL

SCORING POINTS

The object of the game is to score the most points. Teams play 5 on 5 and use mini lacrosse scoops to shoot a whiffle ball at a hoopless basketball board. Lighting up the net gives you 4 points, hitting the backboard gives you 2 points. Shots off the ceiling do not count.

Points can also be awarded for fouls. Examples of fouls include:

  • Slashing (players or whirlybugs)

  • Delay of game

  • Arguing with the ref

  • Intentional roughness

Once your team scores, it’s the other team’s ball. You may not touch it until they have had possession.

Red shoots at red, black shoots at black.

OTHER USEFUL TIPS

  • Each 1 hour booking will get you 4 games

  • When driving the Whirlybug, please note that the handle will be in the same position when moving forward and backward. To go the other direction, rotate it 360 degrees

  • Walk on and off the court and never exit your vehicle when the court is on. Always keep your seatbelt fastened during the game.

  • When shooting or passing, imagine you are throwing a dart, not a baseball

  • You may not use your hands during the game. The only exceptions are if the ball becomes squished and it needs to be made round again OR if the ball falls in the bottom of your bug.
